Summah Splash-In Takes Flight

BELGRADE LAKES, Maine - The second annual Summah Splash-In, on July 25th, 2026, located at Day's Store on Long Pond, welcomed more than 250 attendees for a day of aviation, community, and summer fun along the waterfront. Created by Bel-Air Seaplane Service, the event featured 13 seaplanes, with 11 aircraft participating in the highly anticipated seaplane parade over the lake.

The day began with pilots from all over flying in, followed by a pilot safety briefing before aircraft took back to the water, ensuring a safe and coordinated event for everyone involved. Throughout the parade, announcer Jakob McKenney kept spectators engaged by sharing information about the participating aircraft and pilots.

Guests watched the festivities from boats, docks, patios, and the shoreline while enjoying Caribbean-inspired entertainment, with reggae band Middle Ground and authentic jerk chicken, which added to the lively atmosphere. Throughout the day, Bel-Air Seaplane Service owner and Seaplane Pilots Association’s Lead Northeast Region Field Director, Melissa Grabiec offered seaplane flights, allowing community members to experience the beauty of the Belgrade Lakes from the air.

The success of the Summah Splash-In was made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers whose hard work and planning helped bring the event to life. Their efforts, combined with the enthusiasm of participating pilots, local businesses, and community members, created a memorable celebration of Maine's seaplane heritage and waterfront culture.

Bel-Air Seaplane Service extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, participated, and volunteered, and looks forward to welcoming the community back for next year's Splash-In, on July 24th, 2027.
